Momentive SNAPSIL™ RTV162 (White) – Electronic-Grade, Non-Corrosive Silicone Adhesive Sealant

SNAPSIL™ RTV162 is a white, one-component, ready-to-use, electronic-grade silicone adhesive sealant engineered specifically for sensitive electronic and electrical applications. It cures at room temperature upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, forming a tough, resilient silicone rubber that provides excellent protection without corroding copper, brass, or other acid-sensitive metals.

Unlike standard acetoxy-cure silicones, RTV162 utilises an alcohol-based (alkoxy) cure system, releasing non-corrosive alcohol vapours during cure. This results in a low-odour, non-pungent curing process, making it ideal for use in enclosed electronics assembly areas and applications where long-term reliability of metal components is critical.

RTV162 features a spreadable paste consistency, allowing it to be applied precisely to horizontal, vertical, and overhead surfaces in bead thicknesses up to 6 mm (¼ inch). It is not intended for use in sections thicker than 6 mm; for deeper potting, Momentive’s addition-cure or two-component systems are recommended.

  • RTV160 - white flowable paste
  • RTV162 - white paste
  • RTV167 - grey, high-strength paste
