Momentive SNAPSIL™ RTV160 (White) – Electronic-Grade, Non-Corrosive Flowable Silicone Sealant

SNAPSIL™ RTV160 is a white, one-component, ready-to-use, electronic-grade flowable silicone sealant designed for applications that require excellent flow into tight spaces and non-corrosive protection of sensitive electronic components. It cures at room temperature upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, forming a tough, resilient silicone rubber that provides long-term environmental sealing without corroding copper, brass, or other acid-sensitive metals.

Unlike standard acetoxy-cure silicones, RTV160 utilises an alcohol-based (alkoxy) cure system, releasing non-corrosive alcohol vapours during cure. This results in a low-odour, non-pungent curing process, making it ideal for use in electronics assembly, aerospace, automotive, and appliance applications where compatibility with delicate conductors and minimal workplace odour are essential.

RTV160’s flowable liquid consistency allows it to easily penetrate small crevices, voids, and hard-to-reach areas—making it especially suited for thin-section potting, conformal coating, and encapsulation of intricate electronic assemblies. It should not be used in sections thicker than 6 mm (¼ inch); for deeper applications, Momentive’s addition-cure or two-component systems are recommended.
